President Donald Trump says his daughter’s “courage” to stand against the media was the inspiration for her decision to leave the White House.
“I think Ivanka is a very, very strong woman,” Trump told The New York Times on Tuesday.
“And you know what?
I like her courage, too.
I love it.
And I think that she’s doing a really good job of it.
I think she’s done a very good job.”
The president, who has been criticized for his handling of the Russia investigation, was referring to reports that the president tried to block reporters from attending a White House press briefing in January.
The press briefing was the first since the inauguration and was set to take place on Thursday.
